About Katie

Katie Bouvier has focused her civil litigation practice on insurance coverage, commercial vehicle litigation, maritime litigation, and construction defect matters since 2019.
 
She has particular experience with pre-suit investigation, rapid response, accident reconstruction, and data preservation.
 
Before entering civil practice, Katie served as a felony prosecutor with the Fayette Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office from 2012 to 2019. She tried felony jury trials in cases including homicide, rape, robbery, drug trafficking, and firearms offenses, litigating nearly 500 cases.
 
Katie is licensed in Kentucky and admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky.
 
She is active in the legal community as President of the FCBA Women’s Law Association, Editor of Kentucky Instructions to Juries (Criminal), and a board member of the Bluegrass Community Foundation, Leadership Lexington Youth Program, and the Fayette County Bar Foundation.
 
She has been recognized as Best Lawyers in America® “Ones to Watch” for Insurance Law from 2021 through 2026.
 
When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their two dogs as well as playing mahjong.

Katie earned her B.A. in Spanish and International Studies from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, in 2008. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2011.
